Monthly KPI Automation

Your monthly board deck without the Friday-night scramble.

Problem

A sporting goods company’s monthly KPI workbook used to take half a day to fill out by hand. Numbers had to be pulled from twelve different platforms (Meta Ads, Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, Reddit Ads, Amazon Ads, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, GA4, Klaviyo, LoyaltyLion, Impact, and social channel scrapes for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube), each one with its own quirks for getting data out. Then someone copy-pasted everything into a multi-tab Excel template, with the usual typos and inconsistent formatting that come with that.

Approach

A single Python script signs into all twelve platforms, pulls the previous month’s data, and writes it straight into the existing Excel tabs at the right rows and columns. Formatting, formulas, and the Top 10 product blocks are all left alone. Run it once a month from the command line and you’re done.

Result

  • Half a day of manual work each month (about 48 hours a year) turns into a 60-second script run
  • Numbers stay consistent month to month because they all come from the same code
  • Workbook formatting and formulas don’t get broken
