Weekly Regulatory Digest

260 hours a year of legal scanning replaced by a 6 AM email.

Problem

A specialty goods company needed its leadership to stay on top of new federal and state regulations that affect their product. Nobody had time to read through dozens of regulatory feeds and trade publications every week, so important changes were getting noticed only after they’d already become a problem.

Approach

An automated pipeline pulls from the Federal Register, state regulatory feeds, and industry publications. Keyword filtering catches the obvious matches, then AI reads each one against a short brief on what actually matters for this business and ranks the rest. The result is a weekly digest grouped by topic, with severity flags and links to the sources. The email shows up in leadership inboxes at 6 AM Monday.

The bar for what counts as relevant is easy to tune up or down. Too much noise, make the AI stricter; missing things, loosen it.

Result

  • Leadership reads a 5-minute email Monday morning instead of spending 5 hours a week (260 hours a year) scanning by hand
  • Catches important regulatory changes early so leadership can react before they turn into bigger problems
  • Same setup works for any regulated industry (cosmetics, supplements, medical devices, specialty retail)
